Kayaking in Rueter-Hess Reservoir
If you’re looking for a great kayaking experience south of Denver, CO you won’t want to miss Rueter-Hess Reservoir! When you reserve your kayak with us you’ll receive the following: 1 kayak, 2 paddles and 2 personal flotation devices. Each kayak can accommodate 1 or 2 people, i.e., seats can be set for a solo paddler or tandem.
Please note that reservations are required. For water conservation purposes, the Rueter-Hess Recreation Authority prohibits pets, swimming from shore and outside equipment. Guests under 13 must have parent adult / present. Clients with young children are REQUIRED to wear PFD while using equipment. Guests are required to stay on main access road and exit the park immediately after the service has concluded. Please bring a watch to help you return on time.

UPDATE: As of June 25, 2020, Rueter-Hess Reservoir is experiencing a blue/green algae bloom LEVEL 1-CAUTION.
Currently, Algal blooms are present throughout many bodies of water in Colorado. The level of algal bloom at Rueter-Hess Reservoir is far below any limits for alarm. While recreational paddling is still permitted, we recommend avoiding algal bloom areas in the water.
According to Colorado State’s website https://www.colorado.gov/pacific/cdphe/harmful-algae-blooms, a LEVEL 1 Algal Bloom is a CAUTION. Please refer to this website for more information regarding algal bloom exposure.
Colorado SUP Sports will notify customers and cancel operations if/when Rueter-Hess Reservoir reaches LEVEL 2-DANGER.
